Obituary

Jon Huffman Winchester Clark of Dearborn, Michigan
peacefully left this life on November 30, 2018 after a long
illness. Jon was the third child born to Lucy and C. E. Frazer
Clark. He attended Eastern High School, where he was
senior class president and very active in many school clubs
and sports. He received a B.A. in Economics with Honors
from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Harvard
Law School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S.
Army where he learned the skills of a telephone lineman
and cryptographer. He married Joanne in October of 2004.
What wasn't Jon interested in? Jon had many interests and
his interests were constantly evolving as he became active
in new endeavors. He was convinced wind power would
become an important energy resource and became active
in organizations supporting that cause. He also had interests
in sailing, tennis, stocks, music and reading. He grew
to love poodles when Ludwig was his constant companion.
Later, another puppy, Wolfgang became a companion in his
illness. One day, when Joanne was disciplining Wolfgang,
Jon disciplined her by saying, "Wolfie is learning just like I
am!" Wolfie and Jon enjoyed their time together during the
last five years.
As his illness progressed, Jon and Joanne learned to enjoy
time at the gym and he became a poster boy for the DMC
Rehabilitation training program in Dearborn. After his retirement,
Jon continued to be active in Prismatic Club and
Christ Church Detroit until his illness prevented him from attending.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church 960 E Jefferson,
Detroit MI 48207 on Friday, December 7 at 11:00
a.m. Jon's cremated remains will be at Woodlawn Cemetery
at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Christ
Church.
