AMATO, Joseph A. Jr. February 14, 2009, age 69 Beloved husband of Johanna "Joni". Dear father of Corene "Cori". Loving brother of Carmen Eugene Hrynewich. Nephew of Gilda Orr and close buddy to Joe Morabito. Joseph was Co-Owner of Amato's Restaurant of Dearborn since 1946 and owner of Amato Foods. Joseph was also an avid pilot since age 15 and flight instructor. He was a member of the Yankee Air Force from Willow Run Airport. Joe did charitable work with the Boys and Girls Club Commissary and St. Patrick Senior Center in Detroit instructing and preparing pizza. Joe was an always hopeful Lions fan. Funeral Thursday 10am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7455 Calhoun, Dearborn. Instate from 9:30 am. Visitation Wednesday 2-9 pm from the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. with Rosary at 7 pm.
