Joseph Ciantar, Jr. was born September 24, 1943 in Sliema, Malta to the late Joseph and Emelda Ciantar.  He was the oldest of 6 children.  His family migrated to the US in 1949 and he graduated from Chadsey High School.  Joseph was drafted into the US Army and served in the Vietnam War and became a US Citizen in 2010 which he was very proud of.  Joseph married Sharon Nyschick in 1968 and they celebrated 52 years of marriage on February 17, 2020.  Joseph went on to follow in his fathers footsteps and was a carpenter for 52 years out of Local 687.

Joseph is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Anthony (Lisa), Randy, Jenny (Shaun), his grandchildren Kayla, A.J., Jesse, London and Cruz.  Also survived by his siblings Sam (Najla), Twaney (late John), Fred (Cindy), Joanne (Kris), Mary Ann (Jerry), 13 nieces and nephews and 30 great nieces and nephews.

Joseph loved his family very much.  He babysat his grandchildren London & Cruz on a weekly basis.  He loved casino's and to fish and was a great story teller.  He loved his dogs who will surely miss him.  He will be greatly missed.
