Grecco, Joseph Robert, son of the late Joseph Thomas Grecco of Calopezzati, Cosenza and the late Eleanor Jane Dore of New Haven, Connecticut passed away at his home on November 20, 2012. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Copple Grecco of Centralia, Illinois and his sister, the late Sarah Raccio Grecco of Bethany, Connecticut. He is survived by his son, David Anthony Grecco of Austin, Texas from a prior marriage to the former Carolyn Marie Velardi of Hamden, Connecticut. Born September 29, 1939, he was a 1957 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, attended both the University of Connecticut and the University of New Haven. Joe met his current wife, Lois, in Chicago in May, 1984 and they were married on December 31, 1985. After a long and fulfilling career, he retired in mid-2006. He was a long time member of the Dearborn Country Club and an avid UConn fan. A memorial gathering will be held at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. on Tuesday, December 4th from 4-6 pm. The funeral mass will be held at St Michael's Church on Wooster Place, in New Haven, CT, the site of his Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. His final resting place will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery located in West Haven, Connecticut.
