Joseph Michael Kaniski, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 6th, 2025. Joseph shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Josephine. Together they built a life filled with laughter and love. He was the proud father of Anthony and Marissa Kaniski. Joseph was born in Wayne, Michigan and was the cherished son of Stephen and Norma Kaniski. Joseph was a dear brother to Susan (Steve) Zink, Steven (Pam) Kaniski, Deena (Mike) Royal, and the late Christine (Arnold) Pierce. He was also a caring brother-in-law to Fabio (Laura) Santioni, Sandra (Dennis) Cipriano. He was the cherished son-in-law of Adalgisa (the late Sauro) Santioni. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his laughter and light-hearted spirit.

Joseph found joy in going to the casino, fishing, bowling, and watching NASCAR. Joseph had a gift for making people laugh with his bad dad jokes. Joseph will be remembered as a true jokester whose humor brought joy to countless lives. His kind heart and smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 10th from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, July 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the at the Dearborn Location of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 22546 Michigan Ave. A funeral mass will be held next door at Sacred Heart Church 22430 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124 at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Entombment will be at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, MI.
