SOPCHAK, JOSEPH PETER Age 94 passed away peacefully on February 15, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Irene Marie. Loving father of JoAnn Riopelle, Lynne Sopchak and Mark Sopchak. The following siblings and in-laws preceded Joseph: Chester (Margret) Sobchak, Jean (David) Albert and Lydia (Stanley) Bozym. Survived by nephew and godchild Frank Sobchak, nieces Carol Albert, Ann Marie (the late Mike) Shienle, Judy (Bob) Rindos, Marcy Sobchak and his "adopted grandchild" Christine Albert, along with many beloved extended family members. He was a proud GM retiree with a winning smile, bright blue eyes and sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, hunting wild mushrooms, fishing, pinochle, bowling, golf and the friendship of his coworkers, neighbors and wildlife. Arrangements are being handled through Howe Peterson at 22546 Michigan Ave. near Military in Dearborn, MI. Visitation will be this Wednesday from 5-8pm and Thursday from 2:30-9pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am Friday at St. Kateri (formerly St. Joseph's) next to Oakwood Commons at 16101 Rotunda in Dearborn. Refreshments will be served in the church hall immediately afterward.
