Happiness, joy, laughter, love these are some of the things that Jo Ann brought into people's lives, especially her family. Josephine Ann Hohner was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Merwyn and Josephine Hohner on August 21, 1928. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. When she graduated from high school, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met the love of her life, (Charles) Paul Provencher. They were married on May 7, 1949 and cherished 64 years together. Jo Ann enjoyed doing many jobs throughout her life including floral arranging, working for Bell Telephone Company, working as a secretary for St. Paschal Baylon Church, selling cosmetics for Avon where she became a district manager, working in the home improvement department and then as a cashier for Meijer, Inc. where she retired in 1985. The job that JoAnn most enjoyed was being "Mom". Shortly after Paul and JoAnn were married, the children started arriving, and they just kept coming. Debi, Diane, Barb, Chuck, Bill, and Beth were the pride and joy of their parents' lives. JoAnn devoted her time and life to caring for her husband and raising her children who would eventually give her 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition, JoAnn is survived by her sister, Jean Muszynski, and her brother, Michael Hohner. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Mike (Merwyn, Jr.) and Jim. JoAnn is deeply loved by her husband and children and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
