Gaston,  Josephine T.   Age 99.

Entered into rest April 3, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Clement.  Loving mother of Elaine Gaston (Mark Scannell), Germaine Kirk and Claudia Gaston.  Dearest grandmother of Kristin Kirk, Jim Kirk(Danielle) and Andy Kirk (Sara) and great-grandmother of Izzy Kirk, Blaise Kirk and Aiden Kirk. Preceded in death by her parents Ignatz and Pauline Ptasznik and her two brothers and sister-in-laws: Edward and Lucille and Benjamin and Josephine. Josephine and her husband Clement took tremendous pride in the building of their home on 111 Hampshire Court in Dearborn,  February 6, 1960, where Josephine resided for 50 wonderful years. In August of 2010, she moved to West Park Place in Toledo as it was challenging to care for her Dearborn residence herself, residing there for 8 years.  In December of 2018 she moved to Parkcliffe Memory Care Community due to her progression of Dementia and finally entered in Hospice of N.W. Ohio, coincidentally with a room number of 111.  Josephine encountered many effects of aging in her diminishing vision and hearing as well as loss of teeth, accepting such changes quietly and with dignity. These impairments eventually limited her ability to enjoy pastimes such as playing cards, bingo and even shopping at Kroger.  Josephine enjoyed playing card games, especially Pinochle, Boston and Kings in the Corner. She very much enjoyed the family volleyball games in the backyard. She spent many years bowling with Sacred Heart Church league. Josephine and Clement loved to take road trips out to Minnesota to visit Elaine and to Colorado to visit Claudia.  Celebrating and supporting milestones such as baptisms, first communion, confirmation, and graduations, were all very important events that Josephine would not miss.  Funeral mass Saturday, April 13 ^th , 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Ave, Dearborn.  Gathering at church from 10:30 a.m..  Visitation Friday 1-8 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave.  Entombment St. Hedwig Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 1627 W Fort St, Detroit, MI 48216 or Hospice of N.W.
