NEWCOMER, Juanita M. died on Sunday, August 30, 2015. She was 91 years old. Juanita was an elementary school teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Oklahoma and also taught children of active military parents in Puerto Rico. Juanita was an active member, elder, and often assistant to the minister with the children's sermon at the Dearborn Woods Presbyterian Church in Dearborn, MI. Juanita was the office manager for her husband's insurance business for many years. After they retired, she made time to babysit her grandchildren. Juanita was a widow after 54 years of marriage to L. Paul Newcomer who died in October 2000. Their son, James P. Newcomer, died at age 52 in April 2003. Two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Ed Lewis, Gail and Steve White, and daughter-in-law, Deborah Newcomer survive Juanita. Juanita also is survived by five grandchildren: Ann Marie and her husband Carl Moore, Laurie Anne and her husband Chad Demery, Eric White, Michelle and her husband Evan Sonderman, and Jennifer Lewis. Juanita has a great-grandson Grayson Demery and a soon to be great-granddaughter Sophia Sonderman, who is due to be born in September 2015. Juanita is also survived by the following nieces and nephews: Joyce and Glen Secondine, Janet and Don Worley, Judy and Dan Howell, Carol Tupper, Ken and Nancy Scott, Don Scott, Cecil and Charlotte Hoar, and Kathy and Skip Scott. The viewing will be held at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home in Dearborn, MI on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 10-Noon with a service immediately following at 12:00 pm. There will be a luncheon at the Dearborn Inn from 1:30-3:30 pm. Juanita's final resting place is at the Northview Cemetery in Dearborn, MI. www.howepeterson.com
