Judy Custer of Dearborn.  Passed away June 21, 2018. Beloved mother of Julie (Ron) Abramas, Elizabeth (Marty) Ballor, Amy (Steve) Potocki and Sally (Butch) Bond. Cherished grandmother of Carly (the late Ethan), Maggie, Allie, Emma, Alex, Nathan, Mary and Jack. Proud great grandmother of Charlie. Dear sister of Gail and Shelley Brown of Atlanta. Longtime friend of George Savatsky.

Judy enjoyed many hobbies including traveling, collecting vintage postcards and antiques and playing bridge.  However, her greatest passion was her family.  She spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren, often taking them on family vacations.  She had a special fondness for the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island and spent the past 12 Mother's Day weekends with her family on the island.  Judy spent many summer days at "the lake" with her family, often having sleepovers with her grandchildren.  After 25 years as an elementary school teacher, Judy retired, but never lost her passion for teaching and children.  She continued to volunteer in the classroom and still yearned to be back up at the blackboard each September.  She was always in teacher-mode.  Her friends and family will miss her wit, kindness, generous spirit, good cooking, but  most of all her companionship and absolute devotion to her role as Mom, Grammy and GG (great grandmother).

Visitation will be Monday, June 25, 2018, from 1pm until 8pm at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, Dearborn Chapel. A 10am service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the funeral home. Gathering beginning at 9am.
