Julie Marie Gubka peacefully passed away on December 12th, 2025 at the age of 58.

Julie was born on March 15, 1967, in Wayne, Michigan.  Having contracted viral encephalitis at the age of 14, Julie lived a life with remarkable courage, perseverance and love.  She lit up any room she was in.

In Julie's early life, she was a gifted runner, a first chair violinist and a great mentor, teacher and friend to those whose presence she was in.

Julie's love of music was constant throughout her life.  Her favorite band was The Beatles, and she had a mild obsession with Paul McCartney. The thrill of her life was visiting Liverpool, England with her mom.  She walked in the footsteps of the Fab 4 down Abbey Road and Penny Lane and also saw the Strawberry Field manor.

She is survived by her mom, Susan Dey, brother Dan Gubka Jr. (Melanie), Eric Gubka (Laurel), 4 nieces, a nephew and a bountiful cousin network.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dan Gubka Sr.

Julie spent the last years of her life under the loving care of Mrs. Robinson and her staff at Robinham Manor in Detroit, Michigan.

Dearest Julie, we will often stop and think about you and know that in our lives we love you more.
