Karen Furgerson, age 62, loving mother of two, step-mother of two, beloved aunt to many, widow to Kenneth Furgerson, and life-partner to Gary Gebolys passed away on October 12th, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Karen was born in 1960 in Dearborn, Michigan. She was the second youngest of four siblings. She was known for her tenacious spirit and her heart of gold. Karen was a fighter until the very end. She took care of her late husband, Kenneth Furgerson, during his five-year battle with lung cancer while simultaneously providing for their two young children at the time. She worked as a phone operator for 33 years, and continued to work even after retirement. More recently, Karen became a grandmother and cherished every moment of it. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.

Karen is survived by her partner Gary; her siblings Mike, Debbie, and Rob; her children Kerianne and Kevin; her step-children David and Genevieve; and her granddaughter Norah.

A Celebration of Karen's Life will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23rd at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., 48124.  Gathering Sunday 12:00-4:00 pm. Please leave an online condolence to comfort the family.
