Kathleen Joy Burridge (Kathy)

Kathy was born in Detroit, the youngest of four children born to Jack and Beulah (Bea) Burridge. Growing up the youngest, older siblings and their friends always protected "Little Kathy". As she grew it was always clear that she had a great love for animals big and small and that they also were drawn to her. She grew into the most beautiful, gracious, gentle soul in Detroit, a modern-day Snow White.

Kathy gave birth to one child, the greatest love of her life, Kaitlyn Isabelle. They enjoyed life as best friends, going to rock concerts together and sharing everything with each other. Kathy and Kaitlyn had a relationship most would be jealous of, encouraging each other, sharing all their joys, successes and failures as best friends would.

During her journey in this life, Kathy was blessed with a life partner, Jeff Goldberg who brought with him Kathy's second daughter (not of birth but of choice of the heart) Kayla Marie Margaret. This family went through the good times and the bad, loving and supporting each other no matter what.

Kathy opened her heart and her home to care for her niece, nephews, friends and friends of her daughters without question of how she would make ends meet. Her beautiful soul was one of uplifting and giving to others.

Kathy went to grade school in the Detroit Public Schools, Westfield Seventh day Adventist School and Fordson High School. She ultimately received a degree in Broadcast Media Arts at Specs Howard School in Southfield, Michigan.

Kathy was preceded in death by grandparents John and Bernice Burridge, Grampa Gordon, Stephen and Beatrice Burrill, Parents Jack and Bea Burridge, niece Kim Stewart, and life partner Jeff Goldberg.

Kathy is survived by daughters Kaitlyn, Kayla, honorary daughter Heaven Carreno, honorary sister Lisa McLaughlin, siblings born to Jack and Bea Burridge- Craig Burridge, Kimberly Burridge Mead, Scott Burridge, siblings born to Jack and Phillis Burridge- Jack (Donna) Burridge, Linda (John) Gay, Annette (Duane) Kortas, Paulette (Joe) Kohrs, nieces and nephews Mitch Duty, Anthony (Alley Rhinehart) Duty, Eric (Ericka) Villarael, Kayla Rosales, Bryan Burridge, Jack Mead, Christyn (Rob) Cullen, Duane (Kristen) Kortas, Shauna (Wade) Penrod, Nick (Colleen) Kohrs, Joanna (Ryan) Hidalgo, John Kohrs, Johnna (Philip) Noels, Ashliegh (Blake) Newman.

Kathy was such a colorful, beautiful soul. We selfishly want to keep her all to ourselves. This world is a worse place without her. She has gone on to more beautiful things than this world could ever offer. Even still, she will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Rest in Peace baby Kathy.
