Kathy
Grantham
April 17, 1947 – April 21, 2021
Kathy Dale Grantham, 74, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was born to James and Candace Duncan in Hohenwald, TN on April 17, 1947. They soon relocated to Taylor, Michigan where she would spend the entirety of her life. She went on to earn her pharmacy technician certificate, and worked in various pharmacies for 54 years.
Kathy was blessed with a very loving family. She met her charming, Roger, through a date set up by her sister, Wilda, and they married in February of 1971. Always being hospitable and generous, they began their life together with fostering teens. Shortly after, they started their own family, and raised three children to know and love the Lord.
Kathy has been a member of the downriver area Churches of Christ her whole life. She blessed others by serving in the nursery and loving on their babies. Although she could not carry a tune for anything, she could be heard singing and rocking those little ones to sleep, and those sweet babies didn't mind one bit.
Kathy was famous around the holidays for her buckeyes and decorated cutout cookies. She was known to go out of her way, just to drop some goodies off and bless someone's day.
To know Kathy, was to know her laugh. She could light up a room with her joy and easy-going personality. Even if she didn't quite get the joke, she wouldn't leave you hanging. She also was known to reach the slap happy stage after a certain hour... that bright smile and laugh will be so missed. It seems so fitting that her favorite thing to collect and visit were lighthouses. As their lights navigate ships home, her light always brought us back to her home, time and time again. Our earthly life will not be the same without her .
Kathy is survived by her children Rod, Ross (Emily), and Keli (James) Loftis; her grandchildren Blake, Peyton, Carter, Cole and Aidan; her sister, Wilda and her brother, Bob. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger; sister Wanda; and her parents.
Viewing and Visitation will held at the Kinergy Center, on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 4-8pm; and from 10-11 am on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, with the funeral immediately following.
