Obituary

Mr. Kenneth M. Koch, long time resident of Dearborn, Michigan passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009 in Bermuda Run, NC where he lived with his youngest son Steven and daughter-in-law Kathy. He was preceded in death by his most cherished wife, true love of his life and best friend Laura M. Koch. Ken was born February 19, 1917 to the late Herman J. and Anna B. Koch. He grew up in Detroit with his two brothers Donald and Richard. He attended The University of Detroit and graduated with an Engineering Degree which served his well in his long and illustrious business career with Rockwell International. Ken was a veteran of World War II serving in the India/China/Burma Theater where he eventually earned the rank of Captain. Ken and Laura were life time soul mates eeting at the tender age of 10 at Wampler's Lake, MI where Ken's parents vacationed and Laura's family owned a cottage. He and Laura so much loved "the lake" that they eventually bought a cottage of their own next door to the Lancaster family cottage which is still in the family today. Ken was a hero, loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed very much. Surviving to cherish his memory are son Kenneth M. Koch II of San Rafael, CA, son Steven L. Koch and daughter-in-law Kathy H. Koch of Bermuda Run, NC and grandchildren Jessica, Stephanie and Chad. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 N. Military, Dearborn, MI with a short graveside service with Military honors at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, MI afterward. We invite all Ken's friends and family to join in his passing from this earthly world to his new spiritual home with the Lord, Laura and family that have gone on before him. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice and Palliative Care, 377 Hospital Street, Suite 103, Mocksville, NC 27-28. They are the wonderful and caring organization that gave loving care to both Laura and Ken and supported the family during their times of need.
