Obituary

Kenneth Jay Marshall, age 57, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at home, with his wife Lori Kohrs and family by his side.  Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, he was the youngest of four brothers  Alan, Tim ('21), and Kurt ('02) born to William H Jr ('15) and Margaret Emogene ('01) Marshall.

"Jay" served in the United States Army and was a man who embraced life to the fullest, always in search of adventure and new experiences.  Alongside his career at Turck as the GM Key Automotive Account Manager, he also pursued his passion for scuba diving and achieved the rank of Divemaster.  He had a deep reverence for the water and expressed that passion by instructing/certifying others (over 500) in the techniques of underwater exploration.

Jay enjoyed riding motorcycles in Northern Michigan with his brother-in-law, embarking on countless road trips with his wife, golfing, fostering dogs and playing card games (especially Five Crowns and 7's) with his extended Rockford family. He dabbled in investment clubs with his closest friends, loved ice cream cones, PBR in a bottle, and the thrill of searching for Sasquatch along America's back roads.

His quick wit made us all laugh even during his last few days.  If you knew him, you knew you had to listen intently because somewhere in the dialogue there would be a joke or innuendo of mischievousness.

Jay won't be resting in peace; he'll be stirring up mischief and bringing laughter to everyone around. We can only hope to reunite with him again, wherever that may be.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate (whether it be your time, materials, or monetary) to your local animal shelter.
