Kenneth B.
Rye
June 28, 1940 – April 9, 2020
Kenneth B. Rye, age 79 of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on April 9, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Pamela K. Rye and beloved father of Kim (Jerry) Jantzen, Renee (Jay) Dallaire, Kenny (Dawn) Rye, Steve (Kelly) Rye, and Abbey (Chris) Coleman. Loving grandfather to Connor Coleman, Megan Coleman, Daniel Rye, Shaun Dallaire, Ashley Dallaire, Paul (Kara) Jantzen, Tim (Heather) Rye, Jacqui (Chris Katip) Jantzen, and Matt Rye. Great-grandfather of Jordyn, Adalyn, and Elias.
Ken was born on June 28, 1940 to Richard and Carline Rye. He was the oldest of three children: Ed (Maryann) Rye and the late Cindy (Everett) Hensley. Ken graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn where he participated in football and swimming. He was a coach for many D7 teams and loved it. Ken never met someone who he could not talk to. He loved to hunt and fish in the great outdoors. When not outdoors, he loved to bowl. In more recent years, you would often find him at gun shows, garage sales, or the casino. He loved all animals but his favorite was dogs. His most recent dog, Toby, was a constant and cherished companion. Ken was the happiest when he was surrounded by family. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Due to current health advisories, the family plans to hold a remembrance and celebration of Ken's life at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home. Once the world returns to its new normal, all of the people who knew and loved Ken Rye will come together to celebrate his life.
The services will be announced on Howe-Peterson.com
