Kevin Michael Malone passed away July 17, 2025 at the age of 73. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, dad, papa, uncle, and friend. Kevin is survived by his wife of 49 years Kathy (nee: Sidlouskas), children Ryan (Kim), Erinn, Meghan, and Kaitlin, his adored nine grandchildren: Logan, Connor, Ireland, Finley, Grady, Evelynn, Frederick, Nora, and Bonnie, sister Sharon (the late Al) Oshinsky and brother Daniel Malone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Kathleen Malone, and his brothers Patrick Malone and Terry Malone.
Born in Allen Park, Michigan on October 25, 1951, Kevin spent his early years learning construction trades working alongside his father. He attended Cabrini schools (Class of 1969) and went on to Western Michigan University where he met the love of his life, Kathy. Together they moved to Dearborn, Michigan where they raised their beautiful family.
A retired Special Education teacher of over 30 years, Kevin spent most of his career at the Jo Brighton Skills Center in Wyandotte, Michigan preparing moderately impaired students for adult life. He was proud to be a "pioneer" in the field of Special Education together with colleagues who became lifelong friends. Kevin left a legacy in the vocational Building Trades program and was happy to retire knowing the program would continue.
Kevin was a devoted and caring family man, installing the values and traditions passed down from his parents. He lived a joyful life creating countless memories with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. Kevin carried his passion of teaching with him daily. In his leisure time, he enjoyed many seasons of camping, competing in bowling, softball, and golf leagues, coaching, mentoring, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
Kevin will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. The family will welcome visitors on Wednesday, July 23rd from 2:00pm until 8:00pm with sharing of memories starting at 6:30pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home-Dearborn, 22546 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Mi. 48124, 313-561-1500. The family would love to hear stories/memories from everyone who knew and loved Kevin. Please bring your favorite story/memory to celebrate his beautiful life.
