Lawrence LeRoy Humbles passed away peacefully at his home on October 2, 2022 at the age of 92.

He was born in Inkster, MI to Harry and Mary Humbles on December 20, 1929. He grew up in Inkster, and at the age of 21 he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Luke Air Force in Arizona. While home on leave, he met the love of his life, Margaret Cafferty. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he proposed to Margaret, and on November 6, 1954 they were married. They made their home in Taylor, MI where they raised their 4 children.

LeRoy worked in commercial construction until he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America for 64 years. At home, he was the 'ultimate handyman'. When something was broke, he fixed it. His family knew if they needed work done around their house all they had to do was call him and he was there.

LeRoy is survived by his 4 children Cheryl (Patrick) Theisen, Debbie (Larry) Best, Mike (Michelle) Humbles and Mark (Heather) Humbles. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law Kathy (Ron) Graham.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Margaret, a sister and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 3:00-8:00pm with a rosary to begin at 7:00pm located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home Taylor Location, 9800 Telegraph Rd. Taylor, MI 48180. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 10:00am with an instate at 9:30am at Our Lady of the Angels Church 6442 Pelham Rd, Taylor, MI 48180. Interment at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, MI following mass.
