Obituary

Lawrence (Larry) M Kosiba was born July 10th, 1947 in Dearborn, MI to Genevieve (Nikolai) and Walter Kosiba. He passed away October 7, 2025 in Novi, MI.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Nanette. Larry is survived by his significant other Patrica Karr, his Aunt Ellen Nikolai, and numerous cousins from the Nikolai, Kosiba and extended families.

Larry grew up in Dearborn, MI attended Sacred Heart and Edsel Ford schools and Center for Creative Studies in Detroit.  Larry was an avid hockey player and proudly worked for the Detroit Red Wings in various capacities and just celebrated his 60th season with the team last year as part of their Game Day Press Box crew. Larry worked for J. Walter Thompson where he spent a majority of his career and retired as a Senior Artistic Director. As an artist Larry created artwork and logos for various companies over the years and co-designed the 1996 Detroit Grand Prix poster among various other advertising pieces. Larry valued his personal relationships with friends and family and enjoyed traveling, helping at church and golfing with old friends from school or hockey.  Larry will always be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, his eye for detail and no one will forget him wearing his fur coat with the occasional cigar.

A mass will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Dearborn October 24th at 11:00 A.M. with family gathering at 10:30 A.M., and all are welcome to a luncheon in the adjacent parish hall following mass. In lieu of flowers or in remembrance of Larry donations can be made to the Capuchins Soup Kitchen and Missions in Detroit ( https://www.cskdetroit.org/en/donate/) or the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Hearts of Mary in Monroe, MI. Private cremation has been chosen by the family. Lawrence has been entrusted into care of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 22546 Michigan, 48124, 313-561-1500.
