Lena
Castelvetere
May 11, 1928 – February 13, 2026
In Loving Memory of Lena Castelvetere
Dearborn, MI – Michelina (Lena) Castelvetere, 97, joined her husband Giuseppe (Joseph) Castelvetere in eternal rest on February 13, 2026. Lena was born in Ardore, Italy on May 9,1928, to Vincenzo and Mariantonia "Antonetta" (Frasca) Sainato. She immigrated to the United States where she became a citizen on August 4th, 1952. She and Joseph were married on September 16, 1950, residing in Dearborn, Michigan for their entire marriage. They were both involved in serving their community along with being active parishioners at St. Clement and later at St. Kateri parishes in Dearborn. The Church was an integral part of her life and faith.
Lena was an accomplished seamstress in addition to enjoying gardening, especially tending to her beloved roses. Rose bouquets cut from her carefully tended bushes filled her home each summer. Lena enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home where there was no shortage of food cooked with ingredients from her garden. She made everyone feel welcome at her home with her friendly demeanor.
Lena was a lifelong learner who valued education. She was the first in her family to attend university in Italy and encouraged her children to seek higher education. Additionally, she worked a range of jobs over 20 years from assembling circuit boards at Burroughs, coordinating senior citizen meetings for the City of Dearborn, and working at the election polls in Dearborn.
Lena is survived by her children; Mary Siciliano (Peter), Fred (Shellie), James (Carrie), Denise Eick (Andrew); grandchildren Marc Siciliano, Julia Siciliano, Brendan Castelvetere, Jeffray Castelvetere, Kristin Castelvetere, David Castelvetere, Maria Castelvetere, Jasmine Eick, Elisabeth Eick, and six great-grandchildren.
