Leon A Woodruff, Jr., passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the age of 78. Leon was born April 12, 1944, in Lansing Michigan, and was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Woodruff (Colter).

He loved motorcycles, sailboats, playing cards, putting together jigsaw puzzles, ice cream, watching movies, and spending time in Harbor Springs Michigan.

Leon is survived by daughters Tonya Smith (Kirt) and Jennifer Woodruff-Backus (Sterling); grandchildren Asher Smith, Aliyah Backus, Delaney Smith, Xander Backus, and Amara Backus; brothers Paul Woodruff (Marcia) and Harold Woodruff; sisters-in-law Patricia Boog (Don) and Deborah VanLanker; and 9 nieces and nephews.

He was an avid pet lover, dogs and cats alike, and enjoyed fostering cats for some extra company during the winter of 2020-21 he spent sequestered in Harbor Springs.

A memorial service for Leon will be held Monday, November 13th at 11am at East Lawn Memory Gardens chapel located at 2400 Bennett Rd, Okemos MI 48864.
