Lexie Opal Belcher of Lincoln Park
Was born on March 20 th , 1924, and went to be with our Lord on April 30 th , 2022 at the age of 98.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Lee Belcher Jr, 2 sons Bennett and Willie, granddaughter Aleisha Belcher, grandson Joseph Irvin and 2 of her sisters Maudie Burke and Dixie Bowling.
She is survived by one sister Alma Mullins of Holt FL., her children Raymond and Patricia Chandler of KY,
Carole Murray of Lincoln Park, Randy and Nealie Belcher of Kalkaska, MI, Robert and Theresa Belcher of Lincoln Park, and Vickie and Jon Andrews.
She has 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Lexie was born in Pikeville, KY the eldest of four daughters born to Roby and Mary Wright Mullins. She loved and adored her sisters, helping them learn and grow along the way. When she was a young woman, she discovered her love for the Lord and was baptized into The Little Ida Church in Ecorse, MI where she is the oldest member. It was this love for our Lord that inspired her to raise her children to know him as well.
After marrying her husband Lee Belcher Jr on April 16 th , 1946, they relocated to the downriver area to start their new lives. While in Michigan Lexie worked in the retail industry, she loved being around people so this made sense. But her role as a Wife and Mother were always her greatest achievements. She loved being out in her garden, quilting, crocheting, and doing puzzles. But her greatest passions were reading and taking trips with her family.
