Obituary

Lillian J. Kasprowicz-McCormick left this world for God's Kingdom on May 30, 2024, at the age of 88 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Stella (Wolak) and John Jankowski (Janson).  She is survived by siblings Leona (Edward, dec) Barann, Sandra Michon (Robert, dec ), and John J. (Pamela) Janson.  She was married to Henry T. Kasprowicz for 43 years and together, Henry and Lillian had four children:   Cynthia (Martin) Szelag, Patricia (Henry) Soltysiak, Teresa (Ken, dec) Tibai, and Paul (Sandra) Kasprowicz.  She was a loving grandmother to Jason (Sara) Kasprowicz, Christina (Branden) Walters, Adam (Emily) Szelag, Alayne Soltysiak, John Tibai, Elizabeth Tibai, Maria Tibai, Frank Tibai, Charles Tibai and Kathryn Tibai.   She was considered a to be a young great-grandmother when Brenden Walters, Camden Walters, Lily Kasprowicz, and Haley Kasprowicz came onto the scene, and still got to hold and interact a bit with Felix Szelag and Molly Szelag when they were born in 2018 and 2023 respectively.  She was a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Henry passed in 1997, and in 2007, Lillian found love again and married Charles P. McCormick, Jr.   They were married for 13 years when he passed as well.  She enjoyed visiting with Charles' family during the time they were together.

Lillian also enjoyed sewing, painting, needlework, crochet, and spending time at the house on Hubbard Lake, MI, with Henry and all the children and grandchildren. She could also speak, read and write Polish, cooked delicious Polish food, and made a great Pizza Casserole!   She really loved her job as a Sacristan for Our Lady of Grace Church, sang in the choir, and was a member of the OLG Women's Guild.    In her life, she had a few outside jobs working at a drugstore just after she married, working as a cook for the Bishop Borgess HS convent, working at Minnesota Fabrics, and of course, her favorite – Sacristan at OLG.  Lillian did some traveling as well:  a cruise, trips to Rome and England.  She had the greatest smile, and would help others whenever she saw the need.

Even though she could be quite feisty, she was and is much loved and will be truly missed.  However, we know where she is and know she is close by; still loving us, still willing to listen and help in any way she can.
