Linda M.
Savitskie
November 4, 1947 – March 1, 2021
On Monday, March 1st, Linda Marie Savitskie, loving wife and mother of nearly 50 years, was received by the lord's loving arms at the age of 73. Linda was born in Detroit, MI to John and Gertrude Mae (Richards) Hendra. On September 24, 1971 she married the love of her life Allen C. Savitskie. They raised two loving daughters, Jennifer and Heather. Linda had a career as a Customer Service Representative with Cardinal Health spanning almost 30 years before retiring to help care for her mother. Linda had a smile and laugh that could light up a room. She loved her family fiercely, including her friends that have become family. She liked nothing more than being surrounded by family, friends, and food. Linda was a wonderful cook and baker and loved to feed everyone. She always had something ready in the freezer should a small army drop by unannounced. Though she struggled with health issues throughout her later years, it never stopped her. Her motto, like her mom before her, was "It doesn't get done wishing it done." Holidays were particularly special to her with Christmas needing to start as soon as the Halloween candy bowl was empty. She is now in heaven with her original Santa Claus, her father. Her other great love was her flower garden, while not the greenest thumb, her eyes sparkled just a little brighter when the spring flowers were ready, and her honey helped to keep them beautiful. Linda's marriage to Al was a partnership of love, communication, and commitment that served as an example to her daughters and all the lives she touched. Linda was preceded in death by her father John, and her mother Mae, in-laws Alex and Mary, her sister-in-law Pat and Brother-in-law, Bob and nephews Steven and Christopher. She is survived by her devoted husband Allen, her loving daughters Jennifer and Heather, her sister Laura (Bob) Ogden, brother John (Kathy) Hendra, brothers-in-law Steve (Pat) Savitskie, Charles (Patti) Savitskie and sister-in-law Janice Oleszczak. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews Michael, Doug (Julie), Dawn, Carolyn and Josh (Brittany) and countless loving cousins.
We will be receiving family and friends at Howe Peterson funeral home in Taylor on Saturday, March 6th from 1-8pm. If you are considering cut flowers, please we request no lilies due to allergies. Due to a limited viewing a plant/flowering plant that can live on in her home or garden would also be appreciated.
