Lloyd Thomas Anderson, known as Tom, died on March 6, 2023 at the age of 83, in Garden City, Michigan.

Tom was born to Arthur and Mary Anderson on March 3,1940 in Detroit. He was the youngest of five children. Tom was raised in Dearborn, Michigan and graduated from Fordson High School in 1958. He lived in Dearborn for most of his life.

Tom served in the United States Army from November, 1959 until November, 1962 and was honorably discharged. He then embarked on his long career as a machinist at several shops in the Detroit area. Tom was skilled in the operation of the Bridgeport mill and lathes.

Tom was an aficionado of horse racing, particularly harness racing and he enjoyed trips to local tracks for all of his adult life. He was also a skilled and enthusiastic card player and he liked to bowl. Tom enjoyed walks, and riding his bicycle.

Tom had a deep devotion to his family. He was especially close to his parents and siblings. Nothing pleased him more than to attend family parties and reunions. Tom enjoyed traveling to Chicago to visit his sisters and their families. Relatives came from across the country to celebrate Tom's 80 ^th birthday in 2020 and honor his life and his quality of always being there for his family. Tom had a special interest in the lives of his nieces and nephews and he reveled in the love of his many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tom had a fine sense of humor and loved to laugh. His easy smile and friendliness will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.

Tom is survived by his sister Jeanne (Philip) Gordon, nephews Richard (Pamela) Anderson, Kenneth (Bernadette) Anderson, Kevin (Maureen) Anderson and nieces Carol (Joseph) Scaglione, Linda (William) Dempsey, Laura Anderson, Beth (Andre) Serevino, Julie (Robert) Hoysgaard, and Susan (Joseph) O'Brien.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary, siblings Mildred (Adam) Schlitt, Arthur (Virginia) Anderson, Ronald (Marge) Anderson, nephew Steven Anderson and sister-in-law Barbara (Ronald) Anderson.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Lloyd Thomas Anderson on March 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 22430 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, MI 48124. Gathering begins at 10:30 am.
