Louis James Grebetz Jr., 69, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on December 18, 2024, surrounded by love and fond memories. A devoted father to his two sons, Louis and Tyler Grebetz, and a proud grandfather to his grandson Cameron Grebetz, he cherished his family above all else.

Louis dedicated 26 years to teaching special education at Joe Brighton School in Wyandotte, Michigan, where he impacted countless lives with his warmth, humor, and unwavering support. Known for his quick wit and love of sharing a good joke, he had a gift for bringing joy to those around him

Louis received his master's degree from THE Ohio State University and was a huge football fan, Louis bled Scarlet and Gray, cheering on his beloved Buckeyes with unmatched passion. He was very proud to have had the chance to take his grandson, Cameron to the horseshoe in Columbus.

He was a loyal friend, a kind soul, and someone you could always count on. He loved to be sneaky and pick up the tab quietly for others. It was always a nice retaliation to get the bill before him and get him back.

Louis's legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering loyalty will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Taylor location of the Howe Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9800 S. Telegraph, 48180. His Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Detroit following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, Michigan
