Louise taught Elementary Music for Belleville Community Schools from 1973-1975 and was a substitute elementary school teacher for several years after until bearing her children, when she took on the role of stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She was active in church choirs, PTA, and Right-to-Life activities. She was a canvasser for the Census Bureau on two occasions. Louise was a talented second-soprano who performed with her husband at several weddings and wedding receptions. She also enjoyed performing and leading the worship music at senior citizen facilities and several local churches. Louise participated in the Detroit Lutheran Singers for several seasons and was fortunate to have joined them for a recording in 1975. Later in life, she continued her education, gaining a Pastorate License from Evangel Association of Churches and Ministries. Further, Louise extended her education by studying counseling at the Samaritan Counseling Center and volunteered as a chaplain for their Spiritual Services Department at Oakwood (now Beaumont-Oakwood) Hospital in Dearborn. Devoted wife of David Kim Carlson. Beloved mom of Alana Lorin Carlson and Aaron Daniel (Grace) Carlson. Proud grandma of Ryker, Barrett and Peyton. Dear sister of William J. (Catherine) Ehlehardt. Loving aunt of William, Karl (Leah) Ehlhardt, Caroline Ehlhardt and Dori (Zach) Foster and great aunt of Cambre and Garver.
