Obituary

Louise Frances Schneider, Born March 16, 1921 in Hamtramck, the only child of Jennie & Anthony Barney. Grew up in Lincoln Park, graduating from Lincoln park High School in 1937. Louise married her high school sweetheart, John Donald Schneider in 1939. She was a loving mother to her son John Donald Jr. (Jackie) and daughter Joann.

Louise retired from BASF Corporation after 37 years. She always enjoyed her job and especially the people she worked with. Mom enjoyed life. She bowled, golfed and went on vacations with her friends, but of course the main part of her life was to love Jackie and I.

Jackie passed away in the Air Force from an accidental drowning scuba diving. Mom never spoke much about her loss, but I know she never got over having to bury her son.

In 1964 we moved to Taylor, leaving Mom and Grandma together. Mom devoted her life to taking care of her mother. Grandma died at age 89 in 1989.

Mom was the most caring person I've ever known. She always worried about everyone else.

She loved flowers, she loved people, and was a "putter". Starting a task, then before finishing it, she would start 10 more. Basically not finishing any of them.

Louise was loved by many, and will be missed by all.

Preceded in death by her son John Schneider. Survived by her loving daughter Joanne (Arthur) Pongones. Visitation Monday 4-8pm and Tuesday 9:30-10:30am with services at 10:30am.at J.L. Peters Funeral Home 3880 Fort Lincoln Park MI (313-928-6500). Doanations to Hospice of Michigan or The Humane Society would be appreciated.
