Luis Magaña

Aged 95, passed away on September 27, 2019. Born in Missouri, Texas, he spent his childhood in Leon, Mexico before returning to the United States where he eventually settled in Detroit.

Raising a family together with his wife Elizabeth of 63 years, he was the loving father of Margarita, Carlota, Teresa, Esther, Graciela (Jaime) Villalobos, Luis Jr., Gilberto, Elizabeth (Jerry) Shaw, and Irene.  Grandfather (Abuelo) to 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Besides his sons and daughters, he held a special love for the children of his brothers, who he treated as his own.

He was proud of his 40 plus years as a Construction Foreman, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed gardening. He loved his vast family and friends and was abundantly generous with all that he possessed.

He now rejoins his precious Elizabeth in peace and happiness.

A Memorial service in his honor will be held on Saturday, October 5th 2019, at 11 am at

Woodmere Cemetery Historic Chapel 9400 W. Fort Street, Detroit, MI 48209

*Procession from the front gate to the chapel will begin promptly at 11 am.
