Lynnette Scott passed away on August 17, 2019 at the age of 68. Beloved wife of Joe D. Scott. Loving mother of Joe David Scott II. Cherished sister of John Williams, Walter Williams, Paul Williams, Carolyn Shook, and Greta Williams. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lynnette was born to John and Gloria Williams on October 27, 1950. She was raised in Dearborn, attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and graduated from Dearborn High School. Lynne and Joe met while attending Henry Ford Community College. They married on August 13, 1971. Lynne was known for her ability to sew, she could look at an outfit at the store and by memory alone she would create her own pattern. She even designed and made her own wedding gown. In 1976 they moved to Allen Park and remained there until 2018 – at which time they returned to Dearborn.

Lynne was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and was a volunteer for the Elementary School Lunch Program at St Frances Cabrini, where her son attended.

As a family, Lynne, Joe and their son, Joe David II, volunteered at Gleaners Community Food Bank helping provide food assistance for those in need. She also provided support to those in need as a Eucharist Minister at Oakwood-Beaumont in Dearborn.

Lynne was also a huge animal lover – and not only did she love them, but animals loved her back and were drawn to her. Lynne didn't see her pets as just animals – they were her family.

During Lynne's spare time she enjoyed sewing, and was quite the seamstress – not only did she create her own wedding dress, but she also made clothes for her siblings when they were younger. She enjoyed spending time quilting blankets and during the summer she would tend to her gardens. She could grow the best tasting tomatoes in her vegetable garden and she knew exactly what flowers complemented each other in her flower beds and baskets.

After her husband retired, Lynne and Joe enjoyed spending time together and walked around Greenfield Village every morning.

Funeral service will be at 12:30PM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. Visitation on Thursday, August, 22, 2019 starting at 2:00PM until 8:00PM.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Angela Hospice in honor of Lynnette.
