Margaret Laidlaw Ferguson died May 4th 2008 in Austin, Texas. She was 92 years old. Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ferguson, her father Hector Ferguson and her brother, William "Flip" Ferguson. Margaret was born in Toronto, Canada in 1916. Her parents, of Scottish ancestry, immigrated to Michigan soon after her birth and settled outside of Detroit in Allen Park. Margaret graduated from the University of Michigan in nursing and pioneered the profession of nurse anesthesiology. She practiced her profession in Ohio, New York and in Detroit at such distinguished hospitals as Detroit Receiving Hospital, Wyandotte and Henry Ford Hospital. Margaret traveled the world, from China to Greece to the Amazon. Though she spent many of the latter years of her life in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Margaret's heart was always in Michigan. She was a Wolverine through and through. She called the streets of Allen Park home and the waters of Lake Huron her summer paradise. Margaret had a large, loving family and friends from all over the country. She witnessed the lives of so many and mourned the losses of those who passed before her. Margaret, we all bore witness to your life, and it is with great sadness we say goodbye. In love and respect, your family: Sandy Eaton, Connie George and family, Sal and Martha Caldaron and family, Chris Wilson and family, Robert Wilson's family, Mike and Jean Zelenock and family, Kay, Muriel, Pete, Naomi, Caroline, Don, Mary Lou, Jan, Bill, Bud, Fran, Mark, George, Marty, William, Carlene, Doug, and of course, your beloved bridge club.
