Margaret Genét Winkleman of Taylor, MI passed away on April 14, 2023 at the age of 70. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Winkleman. Loving mother of Genét Spears, Timothy (Deanna) Winkleman, Kristen Winkleman, and Laura (Adam) Roe. Cherished grandmother of Kaila, Bethany, Owen, Joann, Justin, Abbigaile, Dominico, Norah, Briana, Connor, and Andrew. Margaret is also survived by her loving cat Opie.

Margaret was born in Charleston, West Virginia on February 12, 1953. Margaret was a retired school teacher and had worked in the Taylor Public Schools for over 20 years. She was passionate about teaching and helping others. She was an active member of Southminister Presbyterian Church in Taylor as well. She enjoyed serving her community and in doing so, positively impacted many peoples' lives throughout her life.

Margaret had struggled with her health over many years, but always overcame the battles. The doctors' considered her a "miracle" after many of the health issues she had been through. She is known as a selfless, kind hearted warrior to her family and friends.

One of her favorite hobbies was to do puzzles. She also loved to be near water. It brought her peace and happiness. She really enjoyed taking her family to Kiawah Island in South Carolina every year for a vacation, it was one of her favorite places. Wonderful memories that will never be forgotten.

Margaret lost the love of her life, Thomas, when she was only 44 years old. She never remarried after all that time. She was a passionately devoted wife, mother to four children and grandmother to eleven grandchildren. Her family was her strength and meant everything to her. Margaret will be deeply missed as she rests in peace.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 12:00-8:00pm and the Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 12:00pm located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home 9800 Telegraph Rd. Taylor, MI 48180. Margaret will be interred at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI.
