Obituary

Margie Dolores Erfourth Sept. 1,1922 – April 12,2022

I entrust my spirit into your hands; you, Lord, God of faithfulness— you have saved me.  Psalm 31:5

She was proceeded in death by her husband Ernest Harvey, Son Robert Charles, grandson Michael Lee and her two sisters  Katie Johnson and Geraldine Gnadt.

She is survived by her children Ernest and Linda Erfourth of Orlando, FL, Priscilla and Richard Cochrill of Applegate, MI, William and Thresea Erfourth of St. Claire Shores, MI, Lee and Sharen Erfourth of Jackson, MI, and Ellen and Alan Eppen of Jamestown, ND.  She had 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Margie was born in St. Louis, Missouri and baptized Sept. 17, 1922 at Zion Lutheran Church.  She grew up near Perryville, Missouri on the family farm.

In the early 1940's she came to Detroit and worked at the steel mills.  Working there she met Ernest and they married Aug. 21 1942 in Boyne City. She then went to work at Firestone testing gun clips for rifles, for the war effort.  Shortly after their marriage Ernest entered the Army and served in World War ll.  After his return they began a family moving to Lincoln Park.  She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.  During which time she worked as the school cook, served on the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School, and helped with the Youth Group.  After her retirement from Comerica Bank, she knitted hats and mittens for school children and skull and for the military.   She loved quilting and tending to her garden and roses and dressing Goodfellow dolls.

Margie loved her children and made sure that they grew in their faith walks with Jesus.  In her retirement she enjoyed going to lunch with her friends from Historic Trinity Lutheran Church, Detroit, where she was renown for her fruit pies sold at the harvest festival.

A special thanks to her friends Bob, Bruce and Susan for their many visits.  The family expresses their appreciation and thanks to Sue Tabot and her staff at A Heart That Cares Group Home, for their love and care of our mother during her final months.
