Margot Elizabeth Friedrich-Elwell

Dearborn Heights, Michigan-Margot Elizabeth Friedrich- Elwell , age 96, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017.

Margot was born in Glauchau, Germany on February 1, 1921 to Rudolph and Freida Walter and she had 4 sisters. She married Alfred Richter in 1940. He was a German soldier killed on the Russian front in 1943.  In 1948, she married an American Merchant Marine named Ewald Friedrich and moved to the United States where they had 3 children.  In 1976, she married Harley Elwell.

Margot was preceded in death by her 3 husbands and daughter-in-law, Jackie and son-in-law Steve

She is survived by daughter Donna, son Lawrence (Larry) and son David, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mom lived a long and fulfilling life. She lived through World War II in Germany and lived the last 68 years of her life in the USA.  She worked for Burrough's Corporation for 35 years. Mom was a loving and giving person with many friends and family that will miss her greatly.  We know she is in a better place and is at peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior.  We will see her again…

There will be a memorial service held in March or April (TBD) where family and friends can gather to remember Margot.
