In Loving Memory of Maria Slayton

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Slayton, age 53, who passed away on March 2, 2026. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Maria's presence lit up every room she entered.

Maria was truly the life of the party. She had a vibrant spirit, a contagious laugh, and a heart that overflowed with love. She never met a stranger — she could strike up a conversation with anyone and somehow make them feel like family. Her warmth and kindness made her unforgettable.

Above all, Maria cherished her family. She leaves behind her five beloved children: Shawn, Alicia, Jasmine, Eddie, and Michael. She was an incredibly proud grandmother to Riley, Gabe, and Amir, and nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with them.

Maria was also a devoted aunt who adored her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her loving mother, Linda; her siblings, Sherri, Larry, and Paul; and her loving boyfriend of 26 years, Steve, who stood faithfully by her side.

She also had a special love for her cat and found joy in the simple moments spent at home surrounded by those she cared about most.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the love, laughter, and memories Maria gave us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️
