Marian Earlene (Klein) Tyer, 80 of Canton, Michigan died on July 7, 2017.
Marian was born on May 25, 1937 in Lachine, Michigan, the daughter of Mary (MacMillan) and Charles Earl Klein.
Marian graduated from Alpena High school in 1955. She attended Harper Hospital Nursing School in Detroit, MI. She received her nursing certificate in 1958 and worked at Veteran's Hospital (Allen Park, MI) and Annapolis Hospital (Wayne, MI).
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Tyer of Canton; her children: Charis (Robert) Cunningham of Gibraltar, Jeffrey (Janet) Tyer of Indian River; her grandchildren: Travis Cunningham of Gibraltar and Jessica Tyer of Mesa, Arizona; 3 sisters: Marguerite Klein of Livonia, Marietta (David) Henderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Erdine (Eric) Kanarr of Lachine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Earl Klein.
She married John Tyer in 1958 and made their home in Allen Park, Michigan. Later the family moved to Romulus, MI where they lived for 20 years. They moved back to Allen Park with John's parents to provide care for them in their last years. She was active in St Paul Lutheran church's Ladies Circle, Bible study, and Lutheran Social Services of Michigan charity work. Marian enjoyed crafts and painting. For many years she put her artistic talents to work as a successful Home Interiors Consultant. As an avid cook, she loved to host family dinners and entertain their long time card group. She and John also enjoyed many trips with church groups and friends.
There will be a funeral service on Wednesday July 19th at 12:00 noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dearborn, Michigan. The service will be preceded by visitation in the fellowship hall beginning at 10:00 am.
Those wishing to honor Marian's memory are asked to make a donation to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
