Marilyn Louise Caruana passed away on April 14, 2026, from complications of lung cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength.
Marilyn L Kish was born on May 7, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, and later made her home in Allen Park, Michigan, where she graduated from Allen Park High School. It was during these early years that she formed lifelong values centered on family, kindness, and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Kish, her father, Steven Kish, and her sister, Patricia Davis.
She was the beloved wife of Larry, her high school sweetheart, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on family, care, and enduring partnership.
Marilyn was a proud and loving mother to five children: Debora, Cynthia, Kris, Michael, and Charles. She was a cherished grandmother to fourteen grandchildren, a joyful great-grandmother to three, and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She found her greatest happiness in caring for her family, always offering warmth, support, and a generous spirit. She had a special gift for making those around her feel loved and valued.
She spent her professional life working in Human Resources within local banks, where she was respected for her kindness, fairness, and dedication to helping others.
In her personal time, she enjoyed RV camping, quilting, crocheting, and cooking—often creating beautiful handmade items and meals that brought her family together. She took great joy in giving, especially in spoiling those she loved.
Marilyn will be remembered for her gentle nature, her generosity, and her unwavering presence in the lives of her family and friends.
A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation.
May she rest in the peace of Christ and rise in His eternal glory.
Marilyn's Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124. Gathering from 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
