Farquharson,Marion I. July 6, 2012, age 91. Beloved wife of the late John. Loving mother of Ingrid Farquharson and Joanne Hoekstra (the late G. Robert). Dearest sister of Carl Carlson and the late Irene Carlson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marion spent her early years in Sweden and England. The war caused the family to move to the United States in 1939. Marion graduated from the University of Michigan. After her marriage in 1946, Marion and her husband moved to Dearborn where she remained for the rest of her life. A talented artist and popular lecturer, she was also a very active volunteer in many groups: Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, WADOS, Women's National Farm and Garden, AAUW, Palette & Brush Club, Scarab Club, Alpha Chi Omega, The Jenny Lind Club of Michigan, Detroit Swedish Council, Women' City Club of Detroit, Dearborn Historical Society. She was active in Christ Episcopal Church of Dearborn and St Andrew's by the Lake Episcopal Church in Harrisville, Michigan. Funeral service Saturday 11am at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 North Military, Dearborn. Gathering at church 10:30am. Visitation Thursday 4-9pm and Friday 1-9pm at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Avenue.
