Marlene Romeo passed away on Saturday, September 5 at the age of 88.  Marlene's beloved husband, Rocco Romeo, joined her in heaven the very next day on Sunday, September 6.  Marlene is survived by her son Robert Romeo (Peg), daughter Marianne Romeo (Tom) and daughter Christine Huckabone. Marlene is also survived by her grandsons, Andrew (Sara), Bobby Huckabone, Ian Huckabone and her step grandsons, Jason Watson (Emma) and Adam Watson. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Monica Rzepecki and her son in law Edward Huckabone.

Marlene was born in 1932 and lived her whole life in Dearborn.  She was a 1950 graduate of Fordson High School. Marlene went on to work at a car garage as a bookkeeper.  It was there where she met the love of her life, Rocco Romeo.  The two were married in June of 1953. During their 67 years of marriage Marlene and Rocco went on to have three children, three grandsons and 2 step grandsons.

Marlene loved to cook and bake.  She made family gatherings and holidays special with her delicious food and welcoming home.  Everyone was welcome and part of the family.  Marlene was an accomplished old fashioned rug hooker, creating many beautiful pieces, treasured by her family. Marlene also loved to read and play solitaire on her ipad.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, September 9th at Howe Peterson Funeral Home in Dearborn from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.   Marlene will lay in state at Divine Child Church in Dearborn on Thursday, September 10th at 9:30am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am and a private family burial at St. Hedwig's Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
