Mary Ann
C. Davanzo
May 15, 1939 – January 2, 2025
On January 2nd, 2025 Mary Ann Cecelia Davanzo (Slowinski) was called home to her Lord.
Mary Ann was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, babci, and ciocia. While having a quiet, solitary nature she enjoyed mystery and fantasy books, audiobooks, and TV shows. She enjoyed skiing and it was in the ski club where she met her future husband. She left her comfort zone in order to support her sons by helping to establish Boy Scout troop 1130, went on a cross-country car trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and even went on a 50 mile canoeing trip through Wisconsin despite her intense dislike of being on the water! Mary Ann was blessed with a myriad of talents. She loved gardening and her green thumb worked on both produce and flowers, except African Violets. Her skill at sewing and needle point allowed her to touch many lives; she made the wedding dresses for both of her daughters-in-law and her husband's niece. With her talent at knitting, her children, grandchildren, and niece never wanted for sweaters, hats, scarves, or mittens. Her silversmithing and beadwork lives on in many family Christmas ornaments. Her skills at baking were also well known, and her holiday raisin bread was always in high demand at church festivals and given as gifts to her sons' teachers at Christmas time; although much like African Violets, pie dough always proved her nemesis. She was her sister's first art patron, and her sister was her best friend until the very end.
She is survived by her sister, Dolores Slowinski, her 2 sons John and Steven Davanzo, her Niece Claire D'aoust, and her 5 grandchildren, Lucas, Imoen, Kaleigh, Zaviera, and Danica.
