Mary A. Daniel went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 18th, 2026 at the age of 86.
Wife of the late Roger Daniel for 60 years. Mother of Cindy (the late Bruce) Kalandek and Tim (Tabitha) Daniel. Grandmother of Kelsey (Luke) Korte, CJ Kalandek, Hannah, Abigail (Tony) and Sarah Daniel. Aunt to David Zajac. Sister in Law of Linda Christine (the late Peter) Zajac.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, her husband Roger, and her two brothers John and Peter Zajac.
Mary was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She met her husband Roger when two mutual friends at Epping Forest campground in Harrow, Ontario decided these two crazy Christian friends needed to meet each other. They were married in 1961 in the family home in Dearborn and moved into the third floor apartment of that same home soon after. Cindy was born a few years later and Tim followed a few years after that.
Mary was known for two things. Her cooking / hospitality and photography. If you came to dinner or a buffet at Mary’s house and left hungry it was your own fault. Mary also put her all into the many bridal / baby showers and anniversary parties she hosted or assisted with.
Mary faithfully attended Dearborn Heights Christian Assembly on Ann Arbor Trail, although in the last few years, less often than she would have liked. She participated consistently in the many church functions and always left church pot luck dinners with empty dishes.
Cindy bought Mary her first camera shortly after her first grandchild was born and little did she know what she had unleashed. Every major (or minor) moment of our lives were documented. Mary and her camera were almost famous.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 25th from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and Monday October 26th from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Dearborn location of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 22546 Michigan Avenue, 48124. A funeral service will also be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 27th at 11:00 A.M..
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mary's name to Believers Bookshelf USA POB 261, Sunbury, PA 17801 USA.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
