Mary Theresa Wright, a former resident of Dearborn, Michigan, passed away on December 31, 2020. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her home, at the time of her passing, was Reston, Virginia.

Mary is predeceased by her parents Rita E. (Ryan) and James L. Harrison of Dearborn, Michigan. Mary is survived by her brother and sister-in law, James F. and Carol (Stott) Harrison, of Penfield, New York.

Mary went to Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Art Education. She spent her working life teaching and caring for children. Mary worked as an art teacher, day care provider, and supervisor of a county day care program.

Mary's love of children extended into her personal life. Although she did not have children of her own, she was actively involved in the lives of the children of her friends and relatives, especially those of Alice Patterson and Ellen and John Findley. Their children thought of Mary as a special "Aunt". Mary often celebrated holidays with these families and gave generous gifts to them on birthdays and other special occasions. Some of the "children" that Mary leaves behind include Morgan Findley, Marshall Findley, Beth Patterson, Neil Patterson, Bobby Patterson, and Ethan Patterson.

Mary's generosity and selflessness will be remembered by those who knew her and the many charities that she supported. She would put her own needs aside and wholeheartedly give to others. She lived her life demonstrating that "It is better to give than it is to receive."

Mary will be interred in Mount Kelly Cemetery in Dearborn, Michigan.
