Melvin Crosslin passed away on February 5th, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital Wyandotte at the age of 74.

Melvin worked for the city of Dearborn, starting in the "Parks" and worked his way up to a boiler operator for 25 years until his retirement in 2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oran Cordell Crosslin and Lela Evelyn (Schneider) Crosslin.

He leaves behind his 3 children, Jacqueline, (Wayne) Roberts, Richard and Michael Crosslin.

He also leaves 8 grandchildren, Alexis, Quinten, Katherine, Joshua, Tenayja, Alyssa, Leo and Aubree who he loved them all very much.

Melvin is survived by his 2 siblings, his brother David (Sharon) Crosslin and sister Beverly (Bill) Manszewski, who will miss him dearly!!!!

Melvin loved the outdoors he enjoyed rock hunting, going to antique tractor shows, going to trade shows and flea markets to look for "cool things"

Melvin had the knack for genealogy (back when you physically had to look through and search for paperwork / articles from decades past to find that one family member that would link the family tree together!!

Melvin continued to do genealogy even after the internet became available which made things much easier for him.

He had a heart of gold and was quick witted when he wanted to be.

Melvin served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 where he served in Vietnam during the war, as an E-3 Medic.

Melvin will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Dearborn Location Saturday 2/10/2024 from 11:00am until 1:00pm, family will conduct prayers at 12:30 pm.

Melvin will be have military honors on March 21st, 2024, 1:00pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442, (248) 328-0386
