Melvin Leroy Moden Jr., age 50, passed away on July 29, 2026, just days before his 51st birthday. He was born on August 3, 1975.

Melvin was the beloved son of the late Linda Moden and the late Melvin Leroy Moden Sr. He is survived by his stepfather, James Williams; older brother, Richard Moden; his half-sisters, Tamara Honeycutt and Rebecca Ballard; as well as many loving nephews, nieces, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Mary Honeycutt, Richard and Clarice Moden, and his uncle, John Honeycutt.

For 26 years, Melvin dedicated himself to DeAngelis Heating and Cooling, where he worked as a Lead HVAC Technician. He also spent time working in roofing, earning a reputation as a hardworking, dependable professional. Whether on the job or helping family, friends, or neighbors, Melvin was someone others could always count on. His strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to lend a helping hand left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Melvin found his greatest joy outdoors. He loved fishing, canoeing, camping, and spending time in nature whenever he could. He enjoyed staying active by working out, was an avid fan of the television show Survivor, and appreciated listening to rock music.

Those who knew Melvin will remember him as a quiet and reserved man with an incredible sense of humor. Though he wasn't one to seek the spotlight, his contagious laugh could brighten any room. He possessed remarkable strength, unwavering loyalty, and a caring heart that showed itself through actions rather than words. His family and friends knew that no matter the situation, Melvin would be there without hesitation.
