Michael Robert-Edward Schema passed away on April 14, 2020 at the age of 66.
Beloved brother of Kathleen (David) Kovalak, Cheryl (Mike) Bertucci, Lorraine (Martin) Hernandez, Nancy (Daniel) Paradis, and the late Mark and Patricia Schema.
Loving son to the late Robert and Elva Lee Schema with whom he resided with and cared for until their deaths, and continued to live in the family home until his passing.
Dearest uncle to Macy, Mallory, Eric, William, Andrew, Marrianne, and Maureen.
Great uncle to Crosby and Daisy.
Michael was an outdoorsman at heart who had many adventures during his lifetime. One of his trips took him to Isle Royale situated on Lake Superior, and backpacked for a week observing nature in her finest and recording it all through photographs.
He was a jack-of-all-trades and in his teen years he worked with his father at the family owned gas station/repair shop.  But, his passion was serving as a Merchant Marine, sailing on the Great Lakes for Ford Motor Company, hauling iron ore from Minnesota to the Rouge Plant.  He also had a wonderful opportunity to work with a local friend/artisan who restored churches in and around the Detroit area.  Including St. Mary's in Monroe MI, Detroit Institute of Arts Theatre, and Old St. Marys in Greektown.
Michael was a gentle giant who loved everyone, especially his family and friends. He adored his nieces and nephews, and was the friend that you could always count on.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
