Michael Willemse, a longtime resident of South Lyon, passed away May 19, 2024, at Ann Arbor's U of M Hospital.

Mike was born April 6,1958, the son of Marlene and the late Cornelious, (Neil) Willemse.

Michael is survived by his wife Heidi, children: Kati, Nick, and Tyler (Jake), mother: Marlene, brothers: Ken (Sue) and Neal (Kathy), and several nieces, nephews, and their families.

Mike was born and raised in Dearborn and was a 1977 graduate of Dearborn High School. A carpenter by trade, he owned his own construction company for several years. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 2000 and enjoyed their many activities including a high adventure trip to Alaska. An outdoor enthusiast, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. Mike was known to have a big heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. His final act of kindness was to be a Gift of Life donor.
