Mike S. Yuskowatz. 2-12-1927 to 7-3-2020. Loving husband of Elizabeth (Hall) for 70 years. Father of Michael (Norene Bartos), Richard (Lorraine Zajac), and the late Joann Campbell. Grandfather of Deidre Alpaugh, Nicole (Jon) Campbell, Michele (John) Lurz, Michael (Rae Anne Cinder), Beth (the late Derek) Zorn, and Katie (Ben) Wojcik. Great grandfather of Emily, Jonathon, Megan, Charlotte, Ryan, Patrick, Justin, Calvin, William, Ben, Ethan, and Stella.
Mike, a lifelong resident of Dearborn and his wife Bette (born in Pennsylvania) both graduated from Fordson HS. They were married 70 years when she passed in May 2018. He retired from the Livonia Transmission plant in Livonia.
He played baseball for the St. Louis Browns farm team and played baseball into his 60's. He served in the army and was sent to Germany after WWII ended to help rebuild and entertain the troops playing baseball games. He was a Dearborn Parks and Recreation Commissioner for many years.
He became a Mason and got involved in the North American Grotto Associations through the Al Matta Grotto in Dearborn. He was Monarch twice and then ran for the Grand Line. He became the Grand Monarch of the North American Grotto Associations in 1987-1988. At the end of his year he became a Past Grand Monarch and continued his involvement. Wherever he and Bette went after that, they were treated like royalty.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 1-2:30 pm at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Avenue with a 3:30 p.m. memorial and luncheon at Park Place Banquet Hall in Dearborn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humanitarian Foundation, Grottos of North America or Hospice of Michigan. In respect to the executive order issued by the governor, the gathering will be limited to 10 people in our gathering space at one time. Please be patient if you are requested to wait before greeting the family. If you will not be in attendance please be sure to sign the guest book and leave an online condolence to comfort the family. The Howe-Peterson staff practice social distancing, we respectfully encourage our guests to do the same.
