Mildred R. Bartko "Obenauer", age 99 went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on June 4, 2010. She was born January 22, 1911 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Benjamin and Laura Potter Obenauer. She was in show business in the 1940's entertaining the G.I.'s when they came home from the war. This was the love of her life. She was a very loving aunt, friend and mother to many. She always had a smile for everyone. Surviving to cherish and celebrate her memory are her nieces and nephews: Genevieve Voght Henri, Barbara Holdwick, Bob Fox Michelle, Patsy Walls, Linda Frances Walter, Betsy Youngo Jim, Tony, John, Jim, Joe, Jeff, Sandy Claybaugh and Bobby Obenauer and also many great-nieces and great-nephews of whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her loving sisters Gert, Gen, Blanch, Margaret and her dear brother Bob. My dearest friends of all, JoAnn Nardone and Joani Fox. Funeral service will be Monday, June 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Taylor Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S. Telegraph, Taylor. Visitation will be on Sunday 2:00-9:00.
