Nancy Jo
Arevigian
April 21, 1953 – December 11, 2025
Nancy Arevigian was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born in Detroit at Bon Secours Hospital, Nancy was the daughter of the late Bernard and Betty (Jenkins) Plaut.
Nancy grew up in a lively, close-knit home and attended Ridgewood High School in New Jersey before attending Eastern Michigan University. She spent many years working in retail, where her warmth and quick wit made her a natural. For the past 47 years, she worked side-by-side with her husband, Greg Arevigian, in the accounting business they proudly owned together.
Nancy and Greg were married for 51 years. Together they raised three children who were the joy of her life: Melissa Mattison (Eric), Theresa Sadek (KC), and Greg Arevigian II (Darci). Her greatest happiness came from being "Grandma Nancy" to her treasured grandchildren: Mitchell, Kate, Henry, Cora, Mary, Aurora, George, and Nash. Nothing delighted her more than time spent with them, whether at family gatherings, school events, or simply sharing everyday moments.
She was the cherished sister of the late Robert Plaut (Nancy), Barbara Cassedy (Chris Niemiec), Thomas Plaut (Elaine), and Jennifer Hart (Robert). Nancy is also survived by many nieces and nephews (Thomas, Jeffrey, Lauren, Molly, Jack, Harry, Bernard, Owen, Zachary, Kevin, Rose, and Andrew) whom she loved dearly, and her lifelong friend, Saja Barnes.
Nancy was known for her great sense of humor, her generosity, and her outgoing, magnetic personality. She loved to talk and everyone who knew her loved talking to her. She made people feel welcomed, seen, and appreciated, often leaving them laughing or smiling long after a conversation ended. Her friends and family will remember her as someone who brought light, joy, and connection wherever she went.
Above all else, family meant everything to Nancy. She poured her heart into each relationship and created a legacy of love that will endure in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.
